Community support and advice about home energy will be available at a drop-in session in Cockermouth.
Two independent, expert home energy advisers from award-winning charity Cumbria Action for Sustainability will be at Cockermouth Library on Monday, January 20, from 10am to 2pm.
CAfS energy advisers Julia Massey and Claire Taylor will offer help and guidance on issues including energy savings, smart meters, draught-proofing, insulation, boilers, heat pumps, solar panels.
They will also offer advice and support with finding and applying for government grants and will have information about what support is available to retrofit homes.
People can also book a free thermal imaging survey of their home, carried out by one of CAfS’ home energy advisers.
These can identify cold spots, such as draughts, missing or defective insulation, damp areas, and cold bridges. Surveys can point out both quick fixes and the areas that need professional advice and support.
