A Carlisle man is set to be sentenced by a judge next month for supplying cocaine — and escaping from custody.
Matthew Oliver, 21, faced three charges when he appeared at the city’s crown court.
During a short hearing in front of Judge Nicholas Barker, Oliver pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine — between June 21 and July 25 2022; and also possessing the same controlled class A substance with intent to supply it to another, on February 25 2022.
Oliver further admitted a charge of escaping from lawful custody at Crosby-on-Eden on July 25 2022.
Judge Barker adjourned the case for preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report. Oliver, of Punton Road, Stanwix, Carlisle, is due to learn his fate at the crown court on February 11.
In the meantime he remains on unconditional bail.
