Applegarth Villa

A Lake District luxury boutique hotel is on the market for £3.9 million.

Applegarth Villa and Restaurant in Windermere is an award-winning five-star luxury hotel and restaurant and is being marketed by real estate advisors Colliers.

Applegarth has bespoke interior design, Colliers said, and sits in ample grounds with valuable exclusive parking for guests.

It has 22 individually designed rooms/suites – seven with balconies and hot tubs. There are extensive public areas including an AA rosette award-winning restaurant, oak panelled bar, brasserie/orangery and sun terrace.

The business generates significant revenue and profits, Colliers said.

The hotel consists of three separate buildings over a compact site.

The main building contains the reception, bar, restaurant, high quality commercial kitchen and 15 bedrooms.

The stable block alongside the main hotel has seven suites with balconies and hot tubs.

The third property onsite is the manager’s bungalow, with two en suite bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and private terrace, which also has planning permission to convert into two additional suites.

Julian Troup, head of UK Hotels Agency at Colliers said: “Applegarth Villa is a renowned luxury hotel that is presented to the market in superb order.

“The business is currently run under management and is already well established, but still offers a great deal of scope to enhance the existing operation making it an ideal asset for a discerning buyer.

“The Lake District attracts more interest for us than any other UK region, and we anticipate a healthy appetite in this superior opportunity.”

Offers are being sought in the region of £3,995,000.
