Multi-million-pound plans to improve water quality in and around Barrow are set to go on show.
United Utilities is making the investment as part of plans to improve water quality in Walney Island, Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea around Barrow.
The water firm is aiming to improve the water and wastewater infrastructure across the North West.
The project is aiming to invest in 21 storm overflows over the next five years in nine locations across Barrow. It is hoped this will mean that the number of times storm overflows operate in the area reduces to less than 10 per year on average.
The projects in Barrow will also include building more storage for rainwater, so that it can be treated before being returned to the environment and also removing surface water from the combined sewer system to create additional capacity in the sewer network.
Residents can attend a drop-in event on the plans that is being held in the town on Wednesday January 29 between 2pm and 7pm at the Ante Room at the Forum.
