A fitness pod will be officially opened at Aspatria Rugby Club this weekend.
Paid for by the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, the pod was needed due to the extra space required to offer more health, wellbeing and fitness sessions to the local community, he club said, and was the idea of gym manager Dale Wilson.
He was supported by Claire Shepherd, who drove forward grant applications.
Claire is a regular gym member who is active in supporting local communities and charities in developing sustainable growth plans.
The club said: “We have been delighted to have her work with us on this project. The new addition also coincides with the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations during 2025.”
The pod will be officially opened on Saturday, February 15, from 12.30pm. There will be giveaways, special offers for membership plus demonstrations of some of the new classes the pod has made possible, plus Dale will be on hand to answer questions.
Dale said: “I am very excited about the imminent opening of the new fitness pod at the Health is Wealth Fitness Studio. This will allow us to expand what we currently offer the community.
“It will also give us the opportunity to offer a more diverse range of classes in a more flexible way. The arrival of the pod will ensure we can keep up with the demand of the current classes while offering new and unique classes to the area that will cater for all.”
