A by-election for Workington Town Council’s Harrington ward was held yesterday.
Antony McGuckin, of the Labour Party, and Billy Miskelly, of the Conservative Party, both stood.
The results were:
- MCGUCKIN, Antony David – Labour Party: 146 votes
- MISKELLY, William James (commonly known as Billy) – The Conservative Party Candidate: 273 votes.
There were two rejected ballot papers.
The size of the electorate was 2,489. The number of ballot papers issued was 421. The turnout was 16.91%.
Billy Miskelly has been elected as councillor for the Harrington ward of Workington Town Council.
