The family of a 64-year-old man who died following a collision in Whitehaven have paid tribute to him.
Eric John Mc Clurry, known as Ricky, died on March 3 following the collision on Whinlatter Road in Mirehouse.
His family, who called him a kind and gentle soul, said he was a real gentleman and would be truly missed by all who knew him.
They added: “Our beloved Eric John Mc Clurry was known to family and friends as Ricky and known to many more around Whitehaven as the whistling window cleaner.
“Ricky was a polite, old fashioned man with strong values and morals. A gentle soul, thoughtful, kind and caring beyond belief. He had a sense of humour second to none.
“He was incredibly talented, writing poetry, short stories and songs, playing classical guitar, creating oil paintings and carving impressive items out of blocks of wood.
“He really could turn his hand to anything.
“Ricky also had a passion for two-stroke diesel engines, he would rebuild them as if it was child’s play, and if he couldn’t source a part, he would just make it on his lathe.
“Ricky was a real gentleman and one of life’s good ones, who will be truly missed by all who knew him.”
