A Cumbrian author has had one of her works reprinted to raise cash for a county cerebral palsy charity.

Wendy Campbell’s Larn T’t Talk Like We Div is £5 and proceeds will go to Cumbria Cerebral Palsy.

Wendy, of Aspatria, whose grandson has cerebral palsy, has written several books and plays and recorded a CD of the 12 Days of Christmas in Cumbrian dialect.

A member of the Lakeland Dialect Society for many years, Wendy hopes the charity will be able to use her works to generate much needed funds by reproducing and selling copies to the public and through its four small shops in Brampton, Carlisle, Cockermouth and Wigton.

A charity spokesman said: “”We are so pleased and grateful that Wendy has allowed our charity to modify, add to and reprint this booklet which features poetry, phrases, sentences and a dictionary all in the Cumbrian dialect mixed with a wicked sense of humour!

“It was a pleasure to read it and we look forward to reprinting more of Wendy’s work.”

For a donation of £5 or more you can secure your copy of Wendy’s booklet by calling 07807 010339 or contacting the shop nearest you here.
