A new visitor services team is getting ready to throw open the doors at South Cumbria’s Holker Hall and Gardens.
The gates open on Friday, March 21.
New operations manager Anna Saczek joins from Lakeland Arts and is supported by new operations assistant Anne-Laure Kenny and new Courtyard Cafe manager Lauren Whitehall, formerly of River Dart Country Park who completes the team.
Head of visitor services Fran Horne said: “There’s so much going on this year. Our gardeners are launching our new Spring Trail which showcases the plants currently in bloom and changes every month.
“It joins our Trees of Distinction Trail on our new web app which helps visitors navigate the garden and find out more about these magnificent species.
“We’re also delighted to welcome Bob Sutcliffe as artist in residence with his Be Reet exhibition from May, alongside some great new events – including our
all-new two-day May Bank Holiday SpringFest Event, which celebrates all things garden and outdoor-living related.
“It’s a packed season and the new team will be working hard to make it the best one yet.”
Head gardener Matthew Murgatroyd added: “Spring is on its way and the gardens are bursting into life.
“The gardening team have worked hard over the winter, with lots of new planting as well the creation of new pathways for visitors to enjoy. We can’t wait for the gates to open on Friday.”
