No further action will be taken after a teacher was arrested last year in connection with a child sex offence.
Cumbria Crack reported in August 2024 that the teacher, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was bailed while enquiries continued.
In a statement today, Cumbria police said: “An investigation into a reported child sexual offence has concluded with no further action to be taken.
“Enquiries were conducted by officers, however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.”
At the time, the school – which also cannot be named – said: “Safeguarding is of paramount importance in all that we do, and following this allegation we acted promptly, working with the police to aid their enquiries, while following their advice at every point.
“We also have strong policies in place to support students and their families, and are confident that we have followed them fully, and continue to do so.”
