
Second place Maryport Athletic cut the gap to four points in the Cumberland County League Premier Division on Saturday after a 2-0 victory against Aspatria.
Ciaran Booty and Stephen Cameron Moir both netted to keep reigning champions Maryport unbeaten in the league.
With Cockermouth sitting top with one match remaining for themselves and Maryport having three games left, it looks like it could be a nail-biting finish.
In Division One, Mirehouse earned themselves a 3-0 win away at Whitehaven Miners Social Development with Kyle Bailiff scoring a brace and the other goal being provided by Lachlan Leeson.
Goals from Josh Morley and Ollie Reay helped Unisun Athletic to a 2-0 win over Wigton Harriers to take them top of the group in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup.
In the League Cup 1, Spike Canavan, Alfie Cornish and Lewis McCartney helped Bransty Rangers to a 3-1 victory against Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves with their goal being provided by Taylor Cueto.
Workington Juniors also recorded a 3-1 win when they entertained Dearham United. Harry Watson, Macauley Sharp and Aaron Lister were on the scoresheet for Juniors with Dan Little finding the back of the net for Dearham.
Shane Tyson scored twice to reward Whitehaven AFC Reserves with a 3-0 victory in the League Cup 2 to help his club edge past Unisun Athletic Youth Development, Charlie Hodgson grabbed the other goal.
