A family-run Carlisle computer shop and IT business is offering tech recycling for people and businesses next month.
People are encouraged to drop off their unwanted tech – from outdated laptops and unused desktops to tangled cables and forgotten accessories – at Cache4 IT Solutions during April.
The firm said it would be recycled safely and responsibly.
Cache4 IT Solutions ran a similar scheme in January, which was successful, it said. It recycled over 370kg of waste – equivalent to 900 laptops or six washing machines.
Paul Crooks, managing director, said: “We really care about doing our bit for the environment and helping others do the same.
“This campaign is a small but important way to reduce waste and support sustainability. We’re really proud, and we’re excited to run this scheme again.”
The firm will also host a tech discovery weekend on Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12, inviting people to explore the latest in every day
devices without the jargon or pressure to buy.
Designed for those who may feel overwhelmed by technology, the event will feature hands-on demonstrations of tablets, laptops and PCs that suit a variety of
needs, from keeping in touch with family to supporting children’s schoolwork.
Paul said: “We know tech can sometimes feel complicated. So we’ve created a space where people can ask questions, try things out and get honest, friendly advice.”
