CRFM launches in Carlisle

Cumbrian community radio station CRFM is celebrating its first birthday this month.

It launched on April 15 2024 from the John Myers Studios in Carlisle.

Darrell Thomas, station manager, said: “CRFM was founded with the vision of creating a truly independent station that reflects the spirit of Carlisle.

“We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished in just one year and grateful to our listeners, volunteers, and community partners who have supported us along the way.”

It is holding a birthday bash on Friday, April 25 at Box Arena, featuring tribute acts to Steps, The Vengaboys and Britney Spears, interactive radio segments, giveaways, and a special broadcast highlighting memorable moments from the past year.

People will also get the opportunity to meet the voices behind their favourite shows.

Entry is by ticket only, and the event is strictly for over-18s.

Tickets are free on a first-come, first-served basis and are available in groups of six. To request tickets, email sales@yourcrfm.co.uk with your
ticket requirements.
