This season’s Sunday County Cup final will be an east v west affair following two cross-county semi-finals.
Carlisle’s Cup specialists Inter Pirelli, who have dominated the competition for several years have the chance to atone for last year’s rare blank.
They will take on Moresby Rangers who will be contesting their first final and are somewhat of a surprise packet.
But Pirelli had to rely on a 87th-minute winner to beat the Workington side Bluebell when they scrambled in a corner.
It was quite a performance by Bluebell, who couldn’t get a team the previous week and have only won three of their 12 Premier League games.
Moresby dominated their semi-final at Longtown and got through impressively 5-1 with James Bell scoring all the goals.
In the West Cumberland Sunday League, there was some consolation for deposed champions Northside in their final game.
They beat the new champions Deer Orchard 1-0 with a goal by Cain Pears to miss out by a point from the Cockermouth side who were completing a double, and earning their first success in both competitions.
