
In the Cumbrian evening sun, there was plenty of action in the latest round of midweek fixtures in the Cumberland County League.
In the Premier Division, both Unisun Athletic and Aspatria were playing their final league matches of the season with Unisun running out 2-1 winners.
Jason McAleese and Dillon Burns both netted for the scholars while Aspatria’s goal came from Shaun Smith.
In the Ken Glover Memorial Cup, Craig Rule, Aaron Hoad-Williams and Joe Porter all scored to help Maryport Athletic edge past Wigton Harrier whose goals came courtesy of Shea Johnston and Nathan Cox.
Two goals from Chad Grisdale gave Workington Juniors a 2-0 win against Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves in the League Cup 1.
Bransty Rangers and Mirehouse were involved in a 1-1 draw, Tom Smith scored for Bransty and Mirehouse’s goal was from Jack Burns.
In the League Cup 2, Unisun Athletic Youth Development were 4-2 winners when they played against Silloth.
Jameslee Reynolds got himself a hat trick for Unisun with their other goal coming via Harvie Aldersey. Daniel Scott and Jackson Slack both netted for Silloth.
Elsewhere, a double from Travis Fyfe helped Whitehaven AFC Reserves to a 4-1 victory against Cockermouth Reserves with Joe Carney and Kennan Mackay also netting for Whitehaven. Jack Stevens got Cockermouth goal.
Windscale Reserves were also victorious when they beat Whitehaven Miners Social Development 3-0 with Kieren Fraser getting himself a brace and the help of an own goal.
