People are being reminded to take care near water after a spike in incidents during the first week of the Easter break.
Allerdale Police said officers had responded to incidents at Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Crummock Water.
Emergency services were called to Crummock Water yesterday, Sunday April 13.
Allerdale Police said: “The quick skills of our colleagues at Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service ultimately saved the individual’s life.”
No further details have been issued.
Allerdale Police added: “Luckily during these incidents all agencies worked together to bring the incidents to a safe ending.
“Please can members of the public be mindful of water safety when on and around the lakes/waters, the water is still cold, they are deep and the wind can quickly take hold, which can lead to fatal consequences.
“Please ensure you are well equipped and skilled to venture out onto open water, let someone know where you are going and ensure you have a fully charged mobile device with you.”
