Drivers using the car parks at a Whitehaven retail park are being urged to follow the rules.
Roadworks on Flatt Walks have prompted drivers to use the entrance to the Bridge Retail Park, next to McDonald’s, as an exit.
Copeland police said: “This junction is still no entry from the B&M side, despite the ongoing roadworks.
“It’s one thing contravening the signage and turning left, but officers have witnessed vehicles coming out of the junction and turning right into two lanes of oncoming traffic. This is plain dangerous.
“We appreciate the roadworks are frustrating and traffic is a nightmare getting out at the lights but this behaviour is creating a risk to the workmen and pedestrians that is unacceptable.”
