Lake District allotment on market for £15,000

A Lake District village allotment is on the market for offers over £15,000.

The 0.05-acre allotment in Coniston has been in the same family for generations.

It is now being marketed by H&H Land & Estates and is for sale by informal tender, with a closing date of noon on May 23.

Olivia Barker, rural surveyor at H&H Land & Estates, said: “This is an incredibly rare opportunity. Allotments rarely come up for sale on the open market, especially in such a beautiful and private setting, and a location as iconic as Coniston village.

“Whether you’re a local resident looking to extend your garden, a gardening enthusiast, or someone dreaming of a peaceful outdoor space, this allotment offers a little slice of Lake District life.”

The allotment is one of a row of three. Framed by silver birch trees and complete with a pond, the allotment has panoramic views of Coniston village and the surrounding fells.

It is within walking distance of Coniston Water.
