Work has begun to upgrade the sewer network in a South Cumbrian village.
United Utilities is replacing around 820 metres of sewer to install new larger diameter pipes in Burneside, near Kendal.
A new pumping station with storage capacity will also be created.
The work has started this week and will be carried out in phases through to summer 2027.
As a result of the first phase of work on Burneside Road, a diversion is in place until May 28.
The diversion will take vehicles along Windermere Road (A5284), the A591 and Hollins Lane.
