
£16,000-worth of illicit tobacco products have been seized from a Cumbrian shop.
Police and Trading Standards officers from Westmorland & Furness Council visited the European Mini Market in Kirkby Stephen after people had reported the sale of the illegal products.
Trading Standards performed a search and seized:
- 404 packs of cigarettes
- 235 50g packs of hand rolling tobacco
- 158 vapes
Eden police said: “All were illicit or counterfeit in some way and the approximate value of the goods seized was £16,000.
“Thank you to the members of the public who contributed to the seizure. Any information or intelligence about ongoing crime in Cumbria is always welcome this can be reported directly to Cumbria police or Crimestoppers.”
