
Eight people were arrested this weekend for drink or drug driving offences in Cumbria.
The county’s force said they were arrested yesterday, Saturday May 3.
There is an increased roads policing presence across Cumbria’s roads throughout the bank holiday weekend to keep people safe.
Officers are urging people not to risk lives by driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is one of the Fatal Four – the four main behaviours which cause death or serious injury on the roads. The others are speeding, using a mobile phone at the wheel and not wearing a seatbelt.
Cumbria police said they would continue to target those who are committing such offences.
