Police are appealing for people’s help as part of an investigation into metal and scrap thefts in Millom and the surrounding area.
Officers are looking into reports of suspicious activity concerning a number of men and white flat-bed vehicle.
Police suspect that they are involved in a spate of metal and scrap thefts.
They are looking for information from anyone who has seen an incident that could be linked to these people, or their vehicle.
Officers would also like to hear from people if they are a victim of crime or if they can provide descriptions, names or vehicle details abut the people involved.
Police believe that the suspects have been in the area of Millom and the Green on April 30 and May 1.
Officers are keen to establish a timeline of the movements of the suspects. It is believed the vehicle has travelled along the A595 to Holmrook, however it is unknown which route they have used to and from south Copeland.
Police are appealing for any information that may be helpful to identify the people responsible, the vehicle they are using and the routes they have taken.
Cumbria police said: “We would like to reassure the community that officers are conducting enquiries and are making efforts to trace the people involved and bring them to justice.”
