A walker in the Lake District was airlifted to hospital after they broke their ankle.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was initially called to the incident, on Wednesday, to the area near Pillar. However, following investigation, the walker was on the Cockermouth side of the boundary so the call was transferred to Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team.
The team made their way down Ennerdale valley to Black Sail at around 3.15pm.
While en route, a Coastguard helicopter was called to the incident and arrived on scene as the first team vehicle pulled up.
The Coastguard team lowered their paramedic to the casualty then took a couple of team members to the scene before heading to Kirkbride to refuel.

The rest of the team made their way to the casualty on foot.
The injury was splinted and the casualty given pain relief before the helicopter returned and winched them aboard to take them to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary.
