Wigton Motor Club celebrated VE Day with its John Peel Meander for pre-1950 cars.
The 40-mile classic tour started at the club’s headquarters, the Motor House, near Cockermouth, and wended its way around the northern fells to the finish and lunch at Base Camp North near Greystoke.
The entries of nearly 30 cars ranged in age from 75 to 100 years old. The oldest was Chris Spencer’s 1924 Crossley and the most “modern” the MG TD of John McDarren.
The tour enjoyed superb weather and was put together by Ron and Christine Palmer.

It is one of a number of tours the club runs during the year and the other tours are open to all ages of classics.
