A wild camper was helped off a Lake District after falling ill.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 1.42am to Low Water this morning, Saturday May 10, to a man who had fallen ill while wild camping below Coniston Old Man.
The man, who had previously been on a long walk with a friend before setting up camp for the night, began to feel unwell and became very uncomfortable with the way he was feeling.
Two vehicles were sent out and team members made their way up to their location.
After an assessment it was agreed the gentleman was well enough to be accompanied off the fell.
Everything was packed up and carried down to the vehicles at Windy Gap.
The team then decided the safest decision was to drive the pair to their van in Ambleside so they could rest up.
The incident involved 11 team members and lasted just over three and a half hours.
