Organisers of a music festival in Egremont have been forced to cancel the event due to low ticket sales.
Mont Fest was due to take place on Saturday June 7 at Egremont Rangers’ Gillfoot Park.
The first Mont Fest took place in 2021.
However, the organisers said they were cancelling the event and issued a statement.
They said: “We regret to inform you that Mont Fest has been cancelled this year due to insufficient ticket sales.
“This decision wasn’t made lightly, as our dedicated team of volunteers poured their hearts and souls into planning this event.
“We understand how much Mont Fest means to our community, and it’s truly disheartening to have to take this step.
“Unfortunately, without the necessary support, we can’t go ahead with the event.
“Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders, and we appreciate your patience during this process.
“Thank you to everyone who showed interest and support. We’re determined to learn from this experience and hope to come back stronger in the future!
“Once again on behalf of the management committee we would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and reiterate both our heartbreak and disappointment in having to deliver this information to you all, while also thanking everyone who has supported us.
“Ultimately it wasn’t to be this year but we now regroup and move forwards.”
Chloe Ann Pascoe, a member of the festival’s management committee, said: “I’m really gutted we have had to cancel Mont Fest.
“It’s frustrating to see all the hard work go to waste, but unfortunately, we just didn’t receive the support we needed. Thank you to everyone who was involved.”
