A man will appear in court next month in connection with a racial assault of two people on a West Cumbrian beach last year.
Copeland Police said Mark O’Connor, of Birmingham, has been charged with two offences of racially aggravated common assault this week.
The incident happened on Silecroft Beach on July 30 2024.
It was alleged that a man had assaulted a man and woman on holiday in the area.
Police attended the scene and arrested a man.
Copeland Police added: “Enquiries were then conducted over the following weeks and months with the case being passed to the neighbourhood team for progression and a file was completed and passed to the CPS for a charging decision. The CPS authorised charges this week.
“We would like to thank those who assisted in this investigation.”
