A trial date has been set for a pensioner accused of causing serious injury to a motorcyclist on the A66.
Philip Rimmer was said to have been badly hurt in a collision which happened at a junction in the area of Whitbarrow, between Penrith and Keswick, on Friday September 27 last year.
David George-Plunkett, 77, of Melkinmere House, Troutbeck, near Penrith, faces one charge that he caused serious injury to Mr Rimmer by driving a Mercedes-Benz SLK vehicle without due care and attention.
At Carlisle Crown Court this morning, a trial date was listed in the case.
This is due to start on June 29 next year, with the hearing in front of a jury given a time estimate of four days.
No plea was entered by George-Plunkett today.
His case was adjourned and he is next due to attend the crown court on September 4, when case progress will be reviewed and the defendant is likely to be asked to enter a plea to the allegation.
In the meantime George-Plunkett remains on unconditional bail.
