A Cumbrian festival has been cancelled.
Wannasee Festival was due to take place near Penrith from August 21 to August 24, featuring tribute acts to bands and performers.
It was reported earlier this week that the landowner of the site at Hutton-in-the-Forest, Lord inglewood, where it was due to take place had already been told it was not going ahead.
At the time, organisers said there were ongoing discussions.
But in a statement released last night, organisers confirmed the Penrith festival would not be going ahead.
They said they were heartbroken and added: “This decision has not been taken lightly. Despite enormous efforts behind the scenes, recent developments have made it impossible to continue.
“We are incredibly sorry to all of you who bought tickets, made plans and supported the festival.”
People are urged to contact their ticket provider or card issuer for refunds.
