
Maryport Athletic rounded off a successful season with another trophy – this time the Whitehaven Cup.
The match against Unisun Athletic ended 1-1 with Ciaran Booty scoring for Maryport and Josh Morley finding the back of the net for Unisun.
In a match been played at the Falcon Complex in Egremont, Maryport finally won the tie 5-4 on penalties, winning them their fourth piece of silverware this campaign after previously winning the Benevolent Cup and Conway Cup.
They also won the Cumberland County League Premier Division for the second consecutive time after going the season unbeaten in the league.
The Whitehaven Cup final rounds off the Cumberland County League Campaign for the 2024/25 season which also saw a fantastic debut season for Workington Juniors, who went on to win the Division One title and the League Cup 1.
Whitehaven Miners Social and Windscale Reserves also won a trophy each this season with victories in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup and League Cup 2 Respectively.
In the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup, Aspatria got the furthest out of all the Cumberland County League clubs after they made it all the way to the semi final which seen their run come to an end at the hands of Northern League Division One outfit Penrith AFC 3-1.
The Cumberland County League will return in mid-August after a summer break.
