In celebration of The Great Big Green Week, the popular monthly Penrith Green Screen will host a special Climate Conscious evening at the town’s Alhambra Cinema.
On Wednesday June 11, at 7.30pm, documentary Fast Fashion: the Real Price of Low-Cost Fashion will be shown, alongside a special screening of Agbetsi Living Water Swim, about activist Yvette Tetteh’s 450km swim down the Volta River in Ghana, asking the question “What does a swim have to do with textile waste and the future we’re working to create?”
Following the films, a panel discussion between Gail Gravett, of Cumbria Clothing Collective, Amanda Slattery, of Maya Maya, Kendal, Kay Groundwater, of Identity, Barrow, and Finn Windhill, of Restore Cumbria, will cover topics raised and ask the question of Cumbria Swap for Good.
The evening is in collaboration with Another Way, The Power of Ten, On The Same Page, and Zero Carbon Cumbria.
