People are invited to take part in a university survey which aims to find out what the Cumbrian coast means to them.
Academics from the University of Lancashire are working on research about public spaces on the coast, like footpaths, beaches, harbours and car parks.
Senior lecturer Dr David Jarratt said: “We want to know more about non-economic value they serve to local communities and, in particular, if/ how locals value access to these places. We hope the findings may be of interest to policy makers in Cumberland.”
The short survey takes about five minutes to fill out and is anonymous – it does not gather names or contact information, and is flexible enough to gather the views of local people and relevant policymakers, trade groups and community groups.
Dr Jarratt added: “In particular we would like to hear from local residents. Please take a look and fill it out.”
