People can find out more about Ullswater Community College – a vibrant, ambitious and caring school in the heart of Penrith, at an open evening later this month.

The students of Ullswater Community College excel on a daily basis, whether that be their academic success or the enrichment opportunities they are afforded.

From recently shining in the UK Maths Trust competition, our gymnasts coming seventh in the British Nationals or becoming county champions – we have students breaking records with their running, composing music, volunteering and others travelling the world like our Operation Wallacea expedition to Madagascar – not to mention nearly 200 Duke of Edinburgh participants and the newly formed Cadet Force – one of only 500 in the UK!

At Ullswater, there really is something for everyone.

Over recent years we’ve developed a truly aspirational culture that encourages all of our students to challenge themselves, naturally in the academic curriculum but also in every other sphere of a truly extensive extracurricular programme.

Life happens, the ups and the downs, and our transition and pastoral support is second to none – we’re proud to be a vital part of the community, shaping and supporting the next generation to achieve their full potential.

We understand that parents want a safe and happy environment where your children can flourish.

We have high standards and expectations for our students and in return we offer great teaching and positive outcomes.

We have fantastic relationships with all of the 30-plus primary schools from which our diverse community originates and we have in place a robust transition programme from primary to secondary to support everyone’s success, and our sixth form has strong links to support students on their path beyond Ullswater Community College.

We take our responsibility for the vital five to seven years in between very seriously.

With the development of our new premises in the very near future, we will soon have the buildings to match our high expectations and aspirations. What an exciting time to be joining Ullswater Community College.

Ullswater Community College is a happy school, we live by our values; Ambitious, Caring, Equal and are well on our way to fulfilling our ambition of being “best in county” in all that we do.

Don’t take our word for it, come and find out more for yourself – visit us on Thursday June 26, 4pm to 6.30pm and see what an amazing and nurturing place Ullswater Community College is to learn and grow.
