Police are urging the victim of a sexual assault to contact them.
A man approached a woman on Kendal’s Stricklandgate and kissed her on the lips without her consent.
The incident happened yesterday, Monday June 16.
It happened at about 4pm outside the Tesco Express store.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident before being bailed pending further enquiries.
The incident was reported to a council member of staff, but the victim walked away without leaving her details.
Police said they would like the victim to get in touch with them.
She is asked to call 101, referring to incident 150 of June 16.
Witnesses are also asked to contact police on the same number.
