
Tuesday evening saw a return to Walton Moss for a four grade meeting with 47 hounds turning out on the night.
The weather was perfect conditions for the hounds the sun was shining but had a cool breeze to it.
Up first were the Seniors with a field of 11 taking to the trail. Sportsman for Willie and Craig Mark was sent off as the favourite, following a string of wins recently and having won at Walton Moss on the previous occasion.
Reports came in from the first road and it was the favourite Sportsman who was leading the way from Flecky Jack for Donna, Shaun, Luke and Becky Hetherington, Millie’s Lad for George McGimpsy, and Gillian and Millie Telford and Huntsman’s Rebel for Denise and Jenny Bland, and Graham Little in fourth.
More reports came in from the second and Sportsman was still leading the way but this time from Eden Rayna for David Clifford and Millie’s Lad in third and Flecky Jack in fourth.
As the hounds showed onto the finish, two had developed a small advantage, with Sportsman taking the win by a length to claim his fifth Senior win of the season ahead of Millie’s Lass for George McGimpsy, Gillian and Millie’s Telford and Minnie Million for Joy, Brian and Cathy Lister in third.
Up next were the pups with a field of 11 lining up at the slip. Delta Fortune for Sarah and Baz Harper, and Hartley Robinson was sent off as the favourite.
Off to a flying start was Delta Fortune and Huntsman’s Unite for Denise and Jenny Bland, and Graham Little, these two developed a slight lead from the chasing pack which was being led by kennel mates Denton Phantom and Denton Adonis for Lee, Hayley, George and Joey Wall, Sandra Mordue and Ted Storrow.
As they showed onto the finish Delta Fortune had developed a 20-yard lead and went on to claim his ninth Puppy win of the season ahead of Huntsman’s Unite in second. There was a small gap to the third hound Denton Adonis.

In the Open Maidens, 22 took to the trail. Tallulah for George Burgeon and Carole Logan was sent off as the favourite.
As they slipped and went out of sight for the rest of the trail Tallulah was off to a flying start ahead of Discover for Anna and Kerry Lindsay.
As they showed onto the finish, three had developed a slight lead and Tallulah came on to claim the win by half a length from fast finishing Discover in second and Senor for Malcolm Holmes in third.

The final trail of the evening was the All-In with four taking to the trail. It was won by Meadow Artisan for Paul and Joanne Airey who won by 30 yards from Carole and George’s Overwater Hunter who finished second with Tesla in third for Donna, Shaun, Becky and Luke Hetherington. The final ticket went to Bestmate for Donna Bingham, Richard Gardner and Barry Laider.
Hound racing resumes on Saturday, June 21, for the 2025 International at Tallentire Hill for a 6 grade meeting; Seniors, Senior Maidens, Open Pups, Puppy Maidens, Open Restricted, Veterans. Seniors slip at noon.
