A man charged with attempted murder has appeared in court.
Harry Beighton, 37, of Wellington Street, Millom, was charged following an incident in the town on Wednesday which left a man with serious injuries.
Beighton was also charged with violent behaviour at a police station and assault by beating of an emergency worker
Following the court appearance in Workington, Beighton was remanded to attend Carlisle Crown Court on July 18.
The incident happened in a home at Millom’s Crown Street.
The injured man has since left hospital.
Police are continuing to urge anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information which might assist to come forward.
