Police are investigating after a man knocked on doors in a West Cumbrian village asking to change a fake £20 note.
Copeland Police said the man knocked on several doors on Prospect View in Distington between 10.30pm and 11.30pm yesterday, June 23.
It was later established that the £20 note was fake.
Copeland Police said: “Do you have CCTV in this area? Did this male knock at your door? Please get in touch quoting log 286 of June 23 if you have information which may assist us.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to remind people to be cautious if someone unexpected knocks at your door, particularly at anti-social hours, you don’t have to answer if you don’t who they are.”
