One of Cockermouth cricket’s best-known and long serving player Ken White has been honoured by the club.
The Sandair ground, which he graced for many years, now has a Ken White End and it was officially unveiled this week.
The White family was out in force to see Ken’s best friend Raymond Denham perform the official unveiling ceremony.
Raymond, another long serving club stalwart, already has the Sandair ground named after him.

He was a junior coach and life member, described as “an outstanding sportsman who loved his town.”
Six members of the family were there to hear a lovely speech by John Grainger, a club member at Cockermouth and another good friend of Ken’s.
Ken’s son Gareth said: “Not every family member was able to be there as my wife, daughter and two of my sister’s lads couldn’t make it but there was still a good turnout.”
