A community dog show will be held later this year in South Cumbria to support local charities.

St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston has joined forces with the town’s Ford Park for the Bark in the Park event on September 14.

Organisers said the paw-some event promises a full day of entertainment for the whole family and all proceeds will go towards supporting St Mary’s Hospice, which provides compassionate care and support across South Cumbria, and Ford Park, a community green space at the heart of Ulverston.

The dog show will include categories like Waggiest Tail, Best Dressed, and Dog Most Like Owner and there will be pet-friendly vendors, food stalls and refreshments, activities for children and families, plus information and support from local veterinary professionals at Church Walk Vets, headline event sponsors

Church Walk’s practice director Lauren Moss said: “Church Walk Vets is delighted to sponsor Bark In The Park this year, and support two charities that are integral to the local community. We are really looking forward to the day, it will be a fantastic event!”

Visit https://www.trybooking.com/uk/ETBK to register your dog or find out more. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Entry to the dog show is just £5 per category, and all funds raised will help both charities continue their vital work in the community.

Sam Ronson, Ford Park director, said: “Ford Park is thrilled to be joining paws with St Mary’s Hospice.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, celebrate our four-legged friends, and raise vital funds for two much-loved local charities. We can’t wait to see the park filled with wagging tails and smiling faces!”
