People are urged not to be alarmed if they see a large number of firefighters and smoke at Carlisle United’s Brunton Park ground next week.
Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service will be carrying out a training exercise at the ground on Tuesday, July 8, from 6.45pm to 9pm.
Crews from Carlisle West Fire Station, Carlisle East Fire Station, Longtown Fire Station, Alston Fire Station, Silloth Fire Station, Gretna Fire Station and Langholm Fire Station will be involved.
Carlisle West Fire Station said: “We will be simulating a building fire within the East Stand, we will be using artificial smoke, there will be an increased number of fire service vehicles within the area. Please do not panic, this is an exercise for us to practice our breathing apparatus procedures.”
