A new scheme will be launched to help people’s wellbeing in rural Cumbria.
iCan Wellbeing Group is behind the initiative, iCan Show Up, funded by a £23,019 grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund, administered locally by Cumberland Council.
The project will deliver tailored wellbeing support across rural communities in Cumbria, helping people build confidence, resilience, and connection through a series of inclusive workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and community engagement activities.
The group said: “We are excited to be part of this project and to support our local community in discovering what it truly means to show up as their authentic selves through our find your purpose workshop as well as our new offering of emotional wellness and regulation.
“Thanks to the funding, we can now expand our reach and impact, especially for those looking to get back in to employment.”
The funding will allow the group to:
- Deliver community-based wellbeing sessions across six weeks for three groups
- Offer personalised support to people facing isolation or low confidence
- Provide accessible tools and resources to enhance personal growth and wellbeing
The iCan Show Up project is expected to run this year and into early 2026.
