
A gang of masked people tried to access a cashpoint in the early hours in a north Cumbrian town.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at an ATM on Main Street in Brampton at around 3.40am on Friday, July 18.
Officers said it was suspected that three or four people, wearing dark clothes and face coverings, tried to get access to the ATM, before using a black hatchback to flee.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are keen to speak to the driver of a white van driving towards Brampton town centre on Craw Hall, Brampton at about the same time.
They may have seen the vehicle used in the offence.
Anyone who saw the incident or have seen anyone matching this description, contact police.
Police would also like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at this time who may have dashcam footage.
