Dan Kirkup is preparing for his second season in charge of Carlisle City.

City kick-off at home to Shildon when they open their Northern League campaign on Saturday.

He has a new man by his side as number two in ex-Carlisle and Barrow midfielder Stuart ‘Skip’ Boyd.

Kirkup has given his side plenty of pre-season training and friendly action and expects the players to be fully tuned-up for the opening game.

John Walsh asked the city manager about the pre-season programme, new faces in the squad and prospects for the season.
