Thomas the Tank Engine fans are urged to go full steam ahead at Mitchells next Vintage & Antique Toy Sale.

The sale, on Thursday July 31 at the firm’s Cockermouth saleroom, features a large collection of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends collectibles as well as a range of diecast models, model railways, Star Wars, Action Man, dolls, teddy bears and rocking horses.

The main highlights among the Thomas the Tank Engine single owner collection are a Bachmann G gauge locomotive of Thomas with an estimate of £80 to £120 and a very rare Thomas the Tank Hornby 00 gauge boxed locomotive Murdoch which is expected to sell for £400 to £600.

There are also over 30 other locomotives for sale as well as a range of buses and trams from the same collector.

Highlights among the 500 lots on offer at the sale include a Mamod Steam Tractor with Lumber Wagon with an estimate of £70 to £100 and a Minichamps Bentley valued at £120 to £150.

A Star Wars Legacy sealed and boxed Lightsaber should sell for £80 to £120 and a Meta Quest 3 VR set has an estimate of £120 to £180.

Ten Subbuteo football team sets are valued at £80 to £120.

A splendid scratch built Mississippi Paddle Steamer is expected to sell for £80 to £120.

Lots are on view in the saleroom on Wednesday July 30 from 10am to 7pm and throughout the sale.

A fully illustrated catalogue can be viewed online at www.the-saleroom.com/Mitchells and www.easyliveauction.com/auctioneers/mitchells where buyers can also register to bid live during the auction or leave automatic bids.

Alternatively, those unable to attend the sale can arrange to bid by telephone or leave commission bids in advance by contacting the saleroom.
