[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following a high-value burglary at a South Cumbria shop.

Sometime between 1.15am and 1.30am on July 17th, three men arrived at Biketreks, Ings, in three separate vehicles.

The men, believed to be in their 20s, then entered the shop and filled two of the vehicles with a number of high value bicycles, worth a total of around £45,000.

One vehicle has since been recovered, containing some stolen property.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed any suspicious activity either in or around Biketreks, or who saw three vehicles leaving the area.

Police are also appealing to trace the outstanding property as follows: –

  • Cannondale Synapse bicycle;
  • Scott E-Silence Speed electric bicycle;
  • Factor O2 Dura Ace DI2 bicycle;
  • Numerous Lezyne Multi tools.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to DC 1475 Kerley or 2400 Hill at Kendal Police Station. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Officers also ask that if you are offered any of the above bicycles or tools and are suspicious of the transaction to get in touch.
