Final stage of Daltongate improvement works to commence next week

[T]he final stages of vital improvement works to the Daltongate junction with the A590 are set to commence from next week.

In order to progress these works a section of Daltongate will be closed to vehicles between its junction with the A590 and Daltongate Business Centre from 7 August to 24 August.  The closed section and associated diversion routes will be well signposted throughout the works, and access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Additionally, works to resurface this section of the A590 and Daltongate are planned to take place from 7 August 2017 and will run for an approximate duration of two weeks.  These works will be undertaken at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am to minimise disruption and will require the use of temporary traffic signals and contraflow working.  There are no plans for works to take place on Saturday into Sunday morning or Sunday into Monday morning.

Cumbria County Council and Eric Wright Civil Engineering are grateful for the patience and understanding of the local community whilst these vital improvement works are completed.  The works are expected to take approximately 6 weeks to complete.

Should you have any queries or concerns, please email ulverston.improvements@cumbria.gov.uk.
