Dan Scott of PHX Training

[C]umbria training specialist PHX Training is working in partnership with the UK’s leading training provider learndirect to upskill the workforce across the region and improve employment and career prospects.

The European Skills Funded-contract will meet the needs of the individual, the employer and the gaps identified by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership.

The programme, led by the Lancashire LEP Skills Support for the Workforce, aims to enhance employee skills and career prospects in basic skills and intermediate to higher level.

Dan Scott, managing director of PHX Training, with offices in Cumbria, said: “This is a significant commitment to the training of people of all ages in the region and we’re thrilled to be delivering it.

“We regularly see the benefits of developing skills in the workforce for employers who need people with the right skills in all types of sectors. This programme will help to do just that on a wider scale.”

Subject areas to be covered will include customer service, business and administration, warehousing and hospitality. Priorities of the learning are to improve workplace opportunities, to support progression at work, a promotion or an increase in working hours or salary.

As well as supporting those already in work and finding employment for others, PHX Training works with a range of employers from sectors including hospitality, health and social care, retail, IT, warehouse, construction and manufacturing.

If you’d like to find out how funded training could support your business to develop the skills of your employees, contact PHX Training Morecambe by emailing morecambe@phxtraining.co.uk or telephone on 01524 412384.
