The Beacon Museum

[A] FREE introductory evening offering the chance to explore a range of historical objects is on offer at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven.

The Friends of The Beacon Museum are inviting visitors to go along and find out more about the group that meets monthly and offer a range of fascinating talks and demonstrations from often local historians and performers.

The group is looking forward to welcoming new faces after recently emerging from a period of transition, after the death of Chairman Raymond Devlin in June 2017.

The evening will take place on Tuesday, September 5 at The Beacon Portal, West Strand, Whitehaven at 7.30pm.

Elizabeth Kwasnik, Director at The Beacon Museum, said: “The group is keen to welcome people from all walks of life who have an interest in local history, heritage and science.

“The group works to help charitable activities, such as helping to fund transport costs for local kids clubs at the museum.

“There is a lot to do in ensuring the future of the organisation is secure, and now is an exciting time to get involved and meet new people in the process.”

For more information regarding the event call 01946 592302.
