Swim Canoe at Fell Foot, nr Newby Bridge – Tuesday evenings

[F]or the next few weeks people can have a go at new swimming with a canoe session at the National Trust’s Fell Foot park near Newby Bridge.

With the support of British Canoeing and Sport England, its aim is to give people a chance to swim in open water, in a supervised area with dedicated kayak cover. The Trust says the session is for those who are new to open water swimming or an experienced swimmer looking for that bit of extra support.

Organiser Gareth Field says people can come as a pair or trio, with one person kayaking whilst the other swims with the option to swap around as they navigate a set course.

The Tuesday sessions start at 6.15pm and end at 7.30pm and costs £3 per team which includes kayaks and buoyancy aids.

To book email gareth.field@nationaltrust.org.uk and visit https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/fell-foot/features/swin-canoe-at-fell-foot for more information.
