[A] Penrith man was due to appear in court today [Tuesday] charged with three-sexual assaults on girls, and one-charge of alleged possession of an indecent photo/pseudo photo of a girl.

Robert William Berry failed to attend North and West Cumbria Magistrates Courts complex on Rickergate, Carlisle, court papers give his address as Carleton Drive, Penrith.

The three-sexual assault allegations relate to dates between January 1 and September 23, 2016, the accusations are he intentionally touched 2-young girls and the touching was sexual.

There is one-allegation he had in his possession an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of an unknown-child at Appleby between March 1, 2000 and September 22, 2016.

As Berry failed to appear before District Judge Gerald Chalk a warrant for Berry’s arrest was issued this morning.
